READ ‘n’ Feed Celebrity Auction 2010

READ Saskatoon took on their first fundraising event in 1998. READ ‘n’ Feed, was a fun evening of lively bidding on donated goods and services. Early auction packages included: Loreena McKennit music, subscription to Grain Magazine, pre-season tickets to a Saskatchewan Roughriders game, golf lessons and signed script from this Hour has 22 Minutes, just to list a few.

READ ’n’ Feed took on a new look in 2009. Under the guidance of Roberta Cross, Board Member and READ ‘n’ Feed Chair, we witnessed our event blossom into a tapas style celebratory community event.

Together we raised over $16,000.
All money raised supports the free literacy programming
we offer in Saskatoon and surrounding areas.

The 200 volunteers and five full-time staff work annually with over 3,000 individuals from throughout our community. This number includes:

• 320 adult learners;
• 1,200 children;
• 340 staff from schools, preschools, daycares, businesses and community based organizations;
• 14 businesses;
• 21 different funders, sponsors and donors: federal, provincial and municipal governments, philanthropists, foundations, businesses and corporations.
