Based on the Canada Storysacks Program, READ Saskatoon created its own Storybag Collection available for loan to schools, daycares and organizations to use in their own family literacy programs. Our Family Literacy Coordinator can show you how to use a Storybag or suggest ideas to compliment your theme! Family Literacy memberships are available for $50 per school year. With your membership you will also receive access to the Come Read with Me Library and (RAPP) Reading and Parents  program located in our office.

Each Story Bag contains a children’s book (6 copies to be used by parents), and activities (colouring pages, games and crafts, non-fiction materials, snack ideas and activity suggestions) related to the theme of the book.
The CRWM program uses children’s books as a starting point for developing literacy skills and discussing a wide range of parenting topics.

RAPP packs are filled with books,  reading and language hints, craft ideas, poetry and activity sheets all related to the theme of the book.

READ Saskatoon offers a free Introduction to Family Literacy Certificate Training throughout the year. It is recommended that Story Bag users have this training prior to using the Story Bag program.
