What we want you to understand: linking the lives of adult learners to the field’s research (2008) [ 642k]
The following work is based upon the May 2006 State of the Field Report titled Barriers to Participation in Adult Learning. This ground breaking work provided the springboard for us to share the realities of Saskatoon adult learners’ lives with our community. Most importantly, we wish to share the strength, spirit and resiliency of the hundreds of adults who work with us to strengthen their literacy skills.
Building Capacity to Attract and Retain Literacy Volunteers (2005) [ 412k]
READ Saskatoon's one-year research project investigated how the social, economic, demographic and geographical trends of volunteering in Saskatoon are impacting volunteer recruitment and retention. Findings from the research informed READ Saskatoon's ongoing efforts to build organizational capacity that is responsive to the conditions and motivations of volunteers in the literacy sector.
Community Survey (February 2007) [ 73KB]
This telephone survey was conducted in 2007 by Norask Consumer Interviewing Services Ltd./innovationLOGIK to gauge the perceptions of the general public regarding a variety of current events and topics within the city of Saskatoon. A total of 402 surveys were completed.
READ Saskatoon: Literacy Health Benefits Research Report (June 2003) [ 93k]
With National Literacy Secretariat funding in 2003, READ was able to conduct writing/literacy programs for seniors. These writing programs provided the practical basis for the social research conducted by the Community- University Institute for Social Research.

Seventeen funding bodies were interviewed to explore and better understand their perceptions of READ Saskatoon, literacy and “partnership”.
